Dr. Mahdi Khansefid, assistant professor of UTCAN Department of Horticultural Science and Landscape Architecture delivered two presentations and lectures about the on-campus botanical garden of UTCAN as the oldest botanical garden in the Middle East and the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) of Iran in the Botanical Garden Development and Management Training Course which was held in Shanghai, China from Aug. 19th to Sep. 7th, 2024.


The training course was organized by International Association of Botanic Gardens (IABG) and  Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden (CSBG) to coordinate, promote and support the development and management of the botanical gardens, help build regional capacity and expertise at a time of rapid global change, and strengthen botanical garden networking among different countries and promote exchange of professional skills and ideas. The 2024 Botanical Garden Development and Management training course was sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shanghai Landscaping and City Appearance Administrative Bureau.
